Dear Treasure House partners, prayer warriors and faithful brothers and sisters around the world. The Lord was, is and is to come! He is good all the time and desires, more than anything, to partner with us in all good things.
This mama’s heart was so blessed this summer because of the quality time I was able to spend with my own children and grandchildren. Together, we enjoyed vacationing at a Yogi Bear Jellystone Park and Washington DC. Then, just a few weeks later, we celebrated my son’s wedding! It was absolutely beautiful, with romantic surroundings on Orcas Island. We are all very blessed and honored to welcome Meghan and her 2 children into the family.
The girls love VBS, so we invited a group of awesome people to run it for us here at the house. We also invited another orphanage, so a total of 30 girls were able to join the fun. What a wonderful time it was for young and old! “3, 2, 1…Activate Your Faith” addressed topics such as salvation, caring for and protecting your body, loving your neighbor and staying faithful to God. Everything was decorated like we were in a movie set. We then threw them a Pool Party (with lots of food, fun and fellowship) to finish the week with a big splash! Several weeks later, they’re still singing and dancing to those songs.
Treasure House is continuing to work, in partnership with the Lord, toward is vision and goals and are also now partnering with A Child’s Hope Foundation (www.childshopefoundation.org).
This non-religious organization partners with orphanage directors who are eager to become better leaders, helping them by providing the support and resources needed to fulfill their vision. Click here to view our “improvement roadmap”!
It is specifically designed according to our own personal strengths and weaknesses. We are looking to create a home that thrives in all areas, as well as spiritual. Please be praying for our growth!
Prayer Requests
1) God’s wisdom as we focus on teaching the girls about the importance of the word, “NO”. In a culture where a little girl’s voice is not heard, this is much more difficult than it should be - we need to hear His voice.
2)We had to totally rebuild 1 refrigerator, replace the motor in the other and now the dryer (which we only use during rainy season - now!) is no longer running. I have and hope to purchase 2 more power regulators at $73 per, so this does not happen again.
3) For construction work on the property, please note “Treasure House Building Fund” on your donation.
